2nd screen shot of last 0.3 miles on 7/7/19

With some work, I've been able to keep the average at about 15 minute miles.  "Walking fast" seems to work out to about 16 and a half minute miles, so I mix intervals of jogging/shuffling with walking fast and it evens out.  I use a Garmin HR monitor/GPS tracker and will jog until I can't keep up >90% max HR, and then walk until heartrate recovers and repeat.  In the past I'd been able to build up condition to jog continuously with a 30# pack for a couple of miles, but it's either too hot or I've lost some of that condition since.

15 minute miles with a 30 # pack is work.

As of 7/719 the totals are

  • 6/30/19      4.0 miles
  • 7/4/19         1.6 miles (5.6)
  • 7/519           4.0 miles (9.6)
  • 7/7/19         6.3 miles (15.9 total)

4.2 miles in 1:02:41 (14' 56" mile pace).

This brings my challenge total up to 20.1 miles since 6/30.

This was work, again.  93F and sunny, and I used a brick stack of ruck weights I had left over from another challenge which are at least 5# heavier than what I'd been using.  The pack was up to close to 40# before adding a gallon of hydration.
