One of the best things about The Everyday Marksman community is that it’s full of people from all walks of life coming with different skills and interests. And while I enjoy sharing my thoughts and pushing out educational information to everyone, I only have a small subset of skills compared to everyone else.

This challenge is about sharing what you know with others. Whether it’s survival, shooting, radio, woodworking, or anything else, get out there and share it. The goal here is simply to share your expertise and learn a bit about coaching others. Check out the details below.

Peer Trainer Challenge Rules

This challenge seems simple enough, but it’s probably more work than you think it will be. Your task is simply to pick some specific skill that you know how to do and create a lesson about how to accomplish it. You can do this in any format you wish, be it written, video, or audio. The only requirement is that you provide enough detail for a novice to be able to accomplish the task.

If you’re a community member, post your lesson in the appropriate topic area. If you’re not, then you can email me your submission and I’ll make sure it gets seen (and you get credit).

Suggested Lessons

If you need a bit of inspiration, consider some of these:

  • Starting a fire
  • Building a shelter
  • A marksmanship position
  • Proper cleaning technique
  • Pace counting a distance
  • Drawing a pistol
  • Utilizing a pistol red dot
  • Sharpen a knife
  • Pack a ruck
  • Exercise techniques
  • Calculate ballistic solutions
  • Use a shooting sling
  • Build a sniper hide
  • Construct a ghillie suit
  • Plan a healthy week of meals
  • Tie a specific knot
  • Track an animal

Really, anything is fair game! I look forward to see what you’ve got in mind.
