In session 005 of Marksman Live, Allison and I discuss how to set up “the talk” with your significant other. We discuss what went wrong with how I handled things, as well as her first couple of shooting experiences. We’re coming from the angle of of someone who already owns firearms before they meet someone new, but we also discuss situations where someone wants to introduce firearms into the relationship.

Ultimately, it’s about keeping things friendly, and maintaining a focus on safety. Exposure to safe handling is an extremely important factor, and something that I failed to do early on. Things like sufficient dry practice before going to the range make a huge difference.

There’s also the customary Q&A and social time at the end. We get into things like the “wrong” firearms for women and the zombie apocalypse (of course).

Thanks for everyone that came to hang out with us, and we look forward to doing it again soon!
