There’s a list of gunfighting rules attributed to Drill Sergeant Joe B. Frick. It’s usually passed around the shooting community in jest, but some of the highlights including this one:
Bring a gun. Preferably, bring at least two guns. Bring all of your friends who have guns
Most training courses offered to civilians focus on quickly and accurately running a carbine. The curriculum includes the mechanics and care of the AR-15; fundamentals of marksmanship; malfunction clearance; and maybe some elements of shooting from behind cover. Those are great for bringing your own gun…but what about bringing your friends with guns?
